Chairs for Clean Rooms
In choosing seating for Class 10 to class 10000 Cleanrooms or indeed simply for “super-clean” environments as found in some laboratories, it is well to be aware that – We Get What We Pay For! For areas requiring an extremely low particulate burden we supply BioFit chairs that use a filtration system within the seat. The Class 100 system traps particulates while allowing the seat to conform to body shape. The filter allows unrestricted airflow with an entrapment of particles 0.1 micron or larger. Class 1000 areas (and above) do not require HEPA filter system: in seating features plugged tubular chrome plated or cast aluminium bases and chrome-plated metal parts. These chairs are built on the same frame as all other BioFit Cleanroom chairs. The vinyl under wrap under the seat matches the vinyl upholstery and entirely covers the baseboard of the seat. BioFit seating is tested following a Test Method developed by Inter Basic Resources that is designed to evaluate particulate cleanliness by means of particle analysis. The testing isolates and counts the Federal Standard 209E. BioFit static control chairs and stools can be either conductive or dissipative depending on the upholstery chosen. There is a wide variety to choose from. Chairs can be supplied with appropriate castors or with glides, with or without footrests and armrests. Seat height is adjustable of course.
Clean Room and Static Control Performance packages
All Performance packages include chrome-plated metal parts. Add performance package codes to the end of the model number when ordering make specific choices of casters/glides and upholstery depending on your application.
Options

Finish
C – Chrome plated finish on metal parts resists scratching and scuffing. It is standard on chairs with clean room and ESD performance packages
Seat Controls
Task control is standard. It includes pneumatic seat-height adjustment, fixed rearward seat tilt of 3 ½º, backrest tilt and backrest height adjustment. Other extra cost choices include:
ASC – Articulating seat control. Pneumatic seat-height adjustment, backrest height adjustment, seat and back rest tilt independently and lock into place.
FFAC – Free Float Articulating Control. Pneumatic seat-height adjustment, back rest-height adjustment, seat and backrest tilt independently with separate levers and can free float or lock into place.
Footrings
ATF – adjustable height, 20º diameters cast aluminum footring, not recommended on chairs with tubular bases or the 16º – 21º seat height adjustment range
Casters
CRC – dual wheel polyurethane casters, compatible with clean rooms
LRU – dual wheel soft casters resist movement when the seat is not occupied compatible with clean rooms
R - single wheel thermoplastic rubber, nonmarring ball bearing casters for hard floors; compatible with clean rooms. Note: on chairs with an ESD performance package the R caster is a single wheel , carbon impregnated black ball bearing caster.
STR - dual wheel nonmarring conductive casters, recommended for static control and clean room /static control and clean room/ static control combination chairs only
XR – dual wheel carpet casters

Safety Cabinets for Clean Rooms
The manufacture of Safety Cabinets for Clearooms require materials, design and construction methods that do not result in particulate generations in the environment. The storage of hazardous substances within a Cleanroom area has to be considered according to their properties:- flammable / toxic / caustic or water polluting. Each cabinet we offer is manufactured to meet or exceed DIN EN 14470-1: DIN EN 14727: DIN EN ISO 146441-1. Further details are available on request.

The SafeAir TM GS Range represents a new generation of fume cupboards, designed to ensure the highest degree of protection of laboratory operators from exposure to harmful concentrations of toxic vapours, fumes and particles.
Tested and certified to BS:7258/1994 in conformity to UK COSHH Regulations, DIN:12924, ANSI ASRHAE 110 and BS:7989/2001 Standard for Rcirculatory Filtration Fume Cupboards.
