What Is a Clean Room?

NNYG’s various divisions supply high-quality certified products to many company’s working in pharmaceutical, electronic, food, aerospace, food and optical industries. Our Clean Room products division offers specialized products and knowledge to each industry and offer insightful and internationally standardized and certified products for those contamination controlled environments where specific products are manufactured.

A clean room is a room in which the concentration of airborne particles is controlled to specified limits. Eliminating sub-micron airborne contamination is a process of managed control. These contaminants are generated by people, processes, facilities and equipment and need to be continually removed from the air inside the environment.

The level to which these particles need to be removed depends upon the standards required. The most frequently used standard is the Federal Standard 209E amongst several other internationally developed standards. The 209E is a specific standard that establishes different classes of air cleanliness for airborne particulate levels in cleanrooms and clean zones.

Strict rules and procedures are followed to prevent contamination of the product.  The only way to control contamination is to control the total environment such as air flow rates and direction, pressurization, temperature, humidity and specialized filtration which will all need to be tightly managed and controlled. The sources of these particles need to controlled or eliminated whenever possible so there is much more to establishing and maintaining a clean room than simply using proper air filters.

Cleanrooms are planned and manufactured using strict protocol and methods and are frequently found in the electronics, pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, medical device industries and other critical manufacturing environments.

Once a cleanroom is built it must be maintained and cleaned to the same high standards in order to keep it functioning at its most efficient capability. NNYG’s Clean Room Products Division is an excellent and viable source of standardizes, internationally certified products, information and lint-free, anti-static garmenting to assist with the contamination control required in order to maintain the cleanroom’s established standard.

Preventing contaminants from entering the cleanroom environment is and always will be the main objective. It requires a commitment by everyone entering the cleanroom to make it happen so even professional cleaning personnel need to be aware of the importance of controlling potential contaminants. Strict procedures should be followed whenever entering or cleaning a cleanroom.

NNYG’s Clean Room Division offers non-compromising products and services to the industry and set a high standard of manufacture and supply to cleanroom environments.
